We’re very looking forward to seeing you in Devonport/Limilinaturi for ATEC's Explore Tasmania Trade Engagement event, in proud partnership with Tourism Tasmania (TTas).

Please see details below to assist with event preparation and throughout the event. A reminder to also navigate through the website for all event related updates including the overall program and accommodation offers. Tuesday 2 September 2025

Note: please bring warm layers for later in the day as it will get cooler and the group will be outside for some of it.

Arrival and transfers

For buyers flying into Launceston, a transfer will be arranged from the Airport to arrive in Devonport by early -mid afternoon. Please ensure your flight arrives by mid-day (no later than 1.30pm) to make the transfer. Sellers are welcome to join the transfer from Launceston Airport providing they make their own way to the airport.

11.00am coach transfer - for those arriving on JQ745 and QF1980
1.10pm car transfer - for those arriving on QF2093
The driver will meet you inside the terminal (near the baggage carousel)

For buyers flying into Devonport, a transfer will be arranged from the Airport to the Novotel Devonport. Please ensure your flight arrives no later than 1.30pm to make the transfer.

Please note that Tourism Tasmania will coordinate transfers to Devonport for buyers participating in a pre-famil program.

Coach transfers to the Welcome Networking Function

Time: Registration from 3.30pm for a 3.45pm departure
Pick up location: Novotel Devonport, Corner Of Rooke And, 2 Best St, Devonport TAS 7310
Approximate travel time: 40 minutes to Mount Gnomon Farm (click here for directions)
We recommend that all delegates join the coach transfers, if possible, for an enhanced event experience.

Welcome Networking Function

Join nearly 65 buyer and seller delegates for a fabulous Welcome Networking Function at the superb Mount Gnomon Farm - a multi-faceted destination where farm life meets hospitality. A unique gathering place offering not only premium meats and produce but also a fabulous venue for events, retreats, and unforgettable stays. Recommended attire is business casual throughout.

Arrival: 4.30pm for a farm tour and venue experience followed by dinner and refreshments. For self-drivers, please meet at the entrance of the venue at 4.30pm for commencement of the experience.
Duration: 4.30pm - 7.30pm

At the conclusion of the Welcome Networking Function, delegates will be transferred back to the Novotel Devonport for an evening of leisure.

Parking at Novotel Devonport

Valet parking at is available $25.00 per vehicle per night (Park in front of the hotel and inform the reception on check-in that you will avail the valet parking). Parking is not able to be pre-booked in advance with the exception of motorbikes.

Offsite parking is available for $10.00 per vehicle per 24 hours (the Market Square Carpark located behind the paranaple Convention Centre, about 2 minutes’ walk back to the hotel. Park in front of the hotel and inform the reception that you will avail the offsite parking. A voucher for this will be provided at the hotel’s reception and payment is made through the reception as well.

Breakfast

Breakfast is available in the Novotel Devonport restaurant from 6.30am.

Note: for those delegates departing after the Business-to-Business meetings today, please check out prior to the meetings and store your luggage at reception, or for self-drivers in your car.

Business-to-Business (B2B) Meetings

The B2B meetings will be held at the paranaple Convention Centre which is just a 1-minute walk around the corner from the Novotel Devonport. Please enter the building and take the lift or escalators up to level 3. If you get lost or need directions, please call Jo Dettmann on 0404 023 273 or Alice Costello on 0416 756 586.

F&B: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be served adjacent to Rooms 1, 2 & 3.
There is no formal meeting schedule for this event - all buyers will meet with all sellers.
There will be a total of 29 meetings throughout the day for buyers and 31 for sellers. Buyers will have some spare appointments throughout the day.
Sellers will be seated, and buyers will rotate around the room to conduct the meetings.
Each meeting will proceed for approximately 9 minutes with a 1-minute change over.
Please note that any additional delegates will participate in meetings with the primary delegate. They do not receive their own meeting schedule.

9.00am – Arrival and registration
9.20am - Sellers to be seated at their tables
9.25am - Buyers to be seated at their starting tables
9.30am – Welcome and meetings to commence
11.05am – Morning tea (25 mins)
12.50pm – Lunch (50 mins)
3.00pm - Afternoon tea (25 mins)
4.35pm – Meetings conclude - wrap up and walk back to the Novotel Devonport
5.00pm - Following the B2B meetings, post-event refreshments will be served at the Novotel Devonport
6.00pm - Evening at leisure or departure via own transport

Return coach transfers to Launceston

For those that require it, a return transfer to Launceston Airport will be provided from the Novotel Devonport on the morning of Thursday 4 September at approximately 7.30am. Please have breakfast and check out prior to this time.

Tourism Tasmania has contacted all buyers selected to participate in post-famil program, which will commence from the morning of Thursday 4 September.

Additional Information

Accommodation

Buyers - two nights' accommodation including breakfast for Tuesday 2 September and Wednesday 3 September at Novotel Devonport is included in your registration fee. ATEC has coordinated these bookings directly with the hotel.
Sellers - if you haven't already, please book your accommodation. Please see the accommodation offers listed here on the event website.

What to bring to the B2B - Sellers

Relative to marketing collateral and in an effort to be more sustainable ATEC:

Encourages all delegates to "go green". Please bring as much marketing collateral electronically as possible on fully charged iPad/laptops. There will be charging points within the room however they will not be directly accessible from B2B tables. We do understand some sellers may wish to bring printed presentations which is OK if you prefer.

Discourages the need for prizes, giveaways etc. in an effort to reduce waste and our carbon footprint for the event.

Advises that no pull up banners or display signage is permitted.

What happens if I can no longer attend?

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

Sellers - yes.
Buyers - it may be possible but given travel and famil arrangements have now been confirmed, there will likely be costs associated with making alternative arrangements.

In both cases and as stated in our terms and conditions, there will be a delegate change fee of $150 + GST. Please contact events@atec.net.au to discuss.

What is the weather like in Devonport during September?

Early September is a cosy and cool time of year to visit northern Tasmania. Average temperature range: daytime 12C-16C; nights 3C-6C.
