We’re very looking forward to seeing you in the Fleurieu Peninsula for ATEC's Explore South Australia 2024 event, in proud partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC).
Having recently hosted ATEC Meeting Place in Adelaide at the end of 2023, the SATC invested in an extensive famil program across South Australia which saw 104 places filled by buyers and 19 famils run. To continue this momentum, the SATC is working closely with ATEC for the 2024 Explore SA event and the SATC is providing financial support to run the event and will also subsidise a famil opportunities.
Traditionally the SATC designs a famil program to cover every region, include all registered sellers and then the buyers preference the famil they wish to participate in. For Explore SA, the famil opportunities will not be structured this way and the SATC will provide a famil subsidy to operators who arrange their own famils directly with buyers.
Frequently asked questions
I haven’t been to SA before - are there any famil opportunities for me?
We look forward to welcoming you to South Australia! We suggest a famil around Adelaide and/or a region which your company sells often.
Will there be any costs to attend a famil?
Famil costs will be covered by the operator hosting you and they will receive some subsidy from SATC towards this. The only costs you need to pay would be any incidentals, any meals etc not included in the famil. Should you wish to extend your stay in South Australia and organise your own famil (outside of Explore SA operators), then this would be at your own cost and arrangements.
Once registrations close.....
I haven’t heard from any SA operators and I’m keen to do a famil. What should I do?
Please reach out to the SATC on trade@sa.gov.au to discuss further details and potential options for famil opportunities.
I have tried relevant operators and they have no availability with relevant sellers. What are the options for me?
