We’re very looking forward to seeing you in the Fleurieu Peninsula for ATEC's Explore South Australia 2024 event, in proud partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC).
Having recently hosted ATEC Meeting Place in Adelaide at the end of 2023, the SATC invested in an extensive famil program across South Australia which saw 104 places filled by buyers and 19 famils run. To continue this momentum, the SATC is working closely with ATEC for Explore SA 2024 event and the SATC is providing financial support to run the event and also subsidising a famil opportunities
Traditionally the SATC designs a famil program to cover every region, include all registered sellers and then the buyer's preference the famil they wish to participate in. For Explore SA, famils will not be structured this way and the SATC will provide a famil subsidy to operators who arrange their own famils directly with buyers.
Should you be offering your famil to the buyer of your choice FOC but the buyer needs transport to the region (by air, ferry or road) the SATC will look to subsidise the transport costs instead.
By taking this approach, SATC feels operators and buyers will see product that is relevant to both parties.
Frequently asked questions
I am plan to offer my product FOC to buyers, how can the SATC support this?
Great and thank you! If travel is required by the buyer to reach your product (e.g. flights, transfer etc), a subsidy may be considered to support this travel.
Is there a cap on the amount of subsidy?
Yes there is. The amount per subsidy will be determined when we know interest levels from both buyers and sellers.
What If I want to offer to more than one buyer to experience my product?
You are welcome to offer your product to more than one buy however it also come down to buyer preference.
Should multiple people from one company attend, note that the subsidy will only go towards one person. This should help encourage buyers to see a broad range of product whilst in South Australia and maximise the opportunity for their attendance.
What if I have a buyer requesting a famil and they don’t sell to my target markets?
This is up to you and if you wish to accommodate the request. If you feel that the hosting will not be beneficial to your product and the buyers time, you are politely able to decline.
What if I don’t have availability however want to support a selected buyer, will SATC support at a different time of year?
Unfortunately, this specific famil subsidy is to align with the Explore SA event dates (directly pre or post the event).
For any other famil related queries, please reach out to the SATC on trade@sa.gov.au
