All Delegates

We’re looking forward to seeing you in Alice Springs/Mparntwe for ATEC's Explore Northern Territory Engagement event, in proud partnership with Tourism Central Australia (TCA) and Tourism and Events Northern Territory (TENT). 

Please see the details below to assist with event preparation and throughout the event. A reminder to also navigate through the website for all event-related updates including the overall program.

Arrival and Departure

All delegates are required to make their own arrangements to and from Alice Springs/Mparntwe for the event. 

Buyers:
  • Arrive throughout Monday 23 March. Please note that buyers on the TENT pre Red Centre famil will arrive on Sunday 22 March.
  • Airport transfers have been arranged with Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters for Monday 23 March. Upon arrival at Alice Springs Airport, please collect your luggage and look for a Crowne Plaza staff member holding a sign that says 'ATEC'. They will transfer all arriving buyers to the hotel throughout the day.
  • Depart following the conclusion of the B2B meetings / post event refreshments on Wednesday 25 March, as per your travel arrangements. Post event famils will commence that evening or the morning of Thursday 26 March (please refer to your famil itinerary for the details). 
  • For buyers departing Alice Springs on Thursday 26 March, the hotel has a scheduled airport service that runs daily based on departure flight times and will transfer any buyers to the airport if required. Please see the times below that the shuttle will depart from the hotel.

  • Accommodation has been booked for you based on your flight and/or famil arrangements.
Sellers:
  • Arrive: in time for the Welcome Networking Function which commences at 6.00pm on Tuesday 24 March at Alice Springs Desert Park.
  • Depart: following the conclusion of the B2B meetings / post-event refreshments on Wednesday 25 March.

Welcome refreshments hosted by ATEC (Buyers)

ATEC invites all registered buyers to attend casual welcome refreshments at the hotel prior to the event officially commencing the next morning.

The remainder of the evening and dinner is at your leisure. Please see below for recommendations on restaurants close by and enquire with the hotel if you would like to book.

Tuesday 24 March 2026

Breakfast and activities hosted by TCA (Buyers)

Breakfast is available at Tali restaurant from 6.00am.

TCA invites ATEC's buyers to participate in a morning of local activities in Alice Springs. Coach transfers will be provided so please be ready where and when indicated below to be collected. If you miss the transfer, you will need to make your own way to the various locations.

  • Date: Tuesday 24 March 2026
  • Time: 7.50am for an 8.00am sharp departure with Emu Run
  • Pick up location: Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters
  • Address: 93 Barrett Drive, Northern Territory, Alice Springs
  • Directions: Please meet in the hotel lobby at 7.50am to collect your name badge and be allocated into two groups for the activities.
  • Activities: Art tour at the Telegraph Station and visit to Alice Springs School of the Air. Both groups will participate in both activities.
  • Dress code: Business casual

Following the morning activities, you will be transferred to the Alice Springs Convention Centre for lunch and the Central Australia Tourism Exchange B2B meetings that afternoon.


Central Australia Tourism Exchange (CATE) hosted by TCA (Buyers)

TCA invites ATEC's buyers to participate in the Central Australia Tourism Exchange (CATE), Central Australia's flagship tourism expo and trade event.

Buyers will meet one-on-one with approximately 15-20 local tourism products and operators for an afternoon of driving awareness, building industry relationships and connections, and generating real outcomes for the region.

Please note that these local operators are different to the ATEC sellers that you will meet with the following day during the B2B meetings.

  • Date: Tuesday 24 March 2026
  • Time: 12.30pm - 5.30pm (lunch and afternoon tea included)
  • Location: Alice Springs Convention Centre - MacDonnell Room A & B
  • Address: 93 Barrett Dr, Alice Springs NT 0870
  • There will be approximately 15-20 meetings for buyers throughout the afternoon
  • Sellers will be seated, and buyers will rotate around the room to conduct the meetings
  • Each meeting will proceed for approximately 8 minutes with a 1-minute change over
  • A directory of sellers you will meet with on the day will be provided prior to the event
  • Dress code: Business casual

Transfers (All delegates)

Coach transfers will be provided for ATEC's buyers and sellers to/from the Welcome Networking Function. 

Please be ready where and when indicated below to be collected. If you miss the transfer, please make your own way to the venue for the commencement of the Welcome Networking Function at 6.00pm.

Following the Welcome Networking Function, buyers and sellers will be transferred back to Alice Springs Convention Centre, arriving at approximately 9.15pm.


Welcome Networking Function hosted by ATEC & TCA (All delegates)

All registered delegates are invited to attend the Welcome Networking Function at Alice Springs Desert Park. Drinks, dinner and dessert will be held at Madigan's with the opportunity to participate in a nocturnal animal tour throughout the evening.

During the nocturnal tour you'll be joined by an expert guide on the Mulga Walk, a large predator-proof enclosure located in the foothills of the MacDonnell Ranges. Walk through a rich desert habitat full of life, stopping to spotlight endangered animals of Central Australia and get up close to some including bilby, echidna and mala.

If you intend on participating in the nocturnal tour, please ensure to wear comfortable walking shoes (enclosed) this evening – no thongs or sandals.

For buyers participating in the post event Top End famil, please check out this morning and store your luggage at the hotel reception for the day. You will collect it following the B2B meetings and prior to departing to the airport later this afternoon.

Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings hosted by ATEC (All delegates)

  • Date: Wednesday 25 March 2026
  • Location: Alice Springs Convention Centre - MacDonnell Room A & B with F&B in the Ghan Foyer
  • Address: 93 Barrett Dr, Alice Springs NT 0870
  • There is no formal meeting schedule for this event - all buyers will meet with all sellers in a rotational format throughout the day
  • There will be approximately 32 meetings for sellers and 30 meetings for buyers. Buyers will have a couple of spare meeting slots throughout the day
  • Sellers will be seated, and buyers will rotate around the room to conduct the meetings
  • Each meeting will proceed for approximately 9 minutes with a 1-minute change over.
  • Please see the directories linked below which detail the seller table numbers. Buyers will choose their starting table on the day

What to bring to the B2B (sellers):

Relative to marketing collateral and in an effort to be more sustainable ATEC:

  • Encourages all delegates to "go green". Please bring as much marketing collateral electronically as possible on fully charged iPad/laptops. We do understand some sellers may wish to bring printed presentations which is OK if you prefer.
  • Reminds our delegates that there will be charging points/power stations within the room however they will not be directly accessible from B2B tables.
  • Discourages the need for prizes, giveaways etc. in an effort to reduce waste and our carbon footprint for the event.
  • Advises that no pull up banners or display signage is permitted due to the space constraints in the venue.

Approximate timings for the day:

  • 8.15am – Arrival and registration
  • 8.35am - Sellers to be seated at their tables
  • 8.40am - Buyers to be seated at their starting tables
  • 8.45am – Welcome and meetings to commence
  • 10:20am – Morning tea (25 mins)
  • 12:05pm – Lunch (45 mins) 
  • 2.10pm – Afternoon Tea (25 mins)
  • 4.00pm – Meetings conclude followed by networking refreshments. Buyers on the post event Top End famil will depart for Darwin
  • 5.00pm - Event officially concludes

What happens if I can no longer attend?

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

  • Sellers - yes, however any changes made to delegate details after 23 February 2026 will incur a $150+gst administration change fee.
  • Buyers - it may be possible but given travel and famil arrangements have now been confirmed, there will likely be costs associated with making alternative arrangements, including the above administration change fees.

How should I get to and from the airport?

Based on the buyer flight details provided, airport transfers have been arranged with Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters.
  • Monday 23 March - upon arrival at Alice Springs Airport, please collect your luggage and look for a Crowne Plaza staff member holding a sign that says 'ATEC'. They will transfer all arriving buyers to the hotel throughout the day.

What is the weather like in Alice Springs in March and what should I pack?

March in Alice Springs remains hot, with average daytime temperatures of 32–35°C and overnight minimums of 17–20°C. Rainfall and storms are possible, and it has been very wet there recently. Click here to keep an eye on the forward weather forecast.

Please pack accordingly for your time in the region including light, breathable layers for sun protection and when it gets cooler at night, appropriate shoes, sunscreen, insect repellant, hats, and fly nets/masks if required.
