What is Meeting Place?
Meeting Place (MP) is ATEC’s an annual flagship event that typically takes place in a different showcase tourism destination within Australia each November. Now in its 50th year, MP is the second largest tourism trade event after Tourism Australia's Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) event. MP is made up of various event elements such as business-to-business meetings, conferencing sessions, networking functions, a gala dinner and much more! It also provides the opportunity for Australian based inbound tourism operators and distributors to experience the host destination's tourism offerings first-hand through pre and post-event familiarisations.
Who attends Meeting Place?
Attendees are ATEC members who represent the full expanse of the inbound tourism supply chain including product suppliers/sellers (attractions, hotels, transport operators, wineries, activity-based products etc.) and buyers including inbound tour operators (ITOs) and online travel agents (OTAs) who distribute Australian tourism product internationally either via international trade partners or directly as well as providing a support service for international visitors while travelling in Australia.
Meeting Place in 2023 (MP23)
In proud partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC), ATEC is delighted to be taking MP23 to Adelaide, South Australia. South Australia offers an amazing diversity of experience and there has been considerable investment in creating and building tourism products and experiences which can meet the needs of international visitors and delegates will be keen to take a close look at the latest and greatest the state can offer.
