Experience the Wonders of Western Australia with Tourism WA's Exclusive Pre-Famil Program
Tourism Western Australia (TWA) is delighted to offer buyer delegates the opportunity to express their interest in participating in an immersive pre-famil program, designed to maximise their visit to Western Australia for ATEC Meeting Place 2025.
Western Australia offers a diverse and captivating experience for international travellers. From the vibrant city life of Perth, known for its beautiful beaches and cultural attractions, to the pristine natural beauty of the Ningaloo Reef, where visitors can swim with whale sharks, the state provides a unique blend of urban and natural adventures. The Margaret River region is renowned for its world-class wineries and gourmet food, attracting food and wine enthusiasts from around the globe. Additionally, the Kimberley region offers rugged landscapes and rich Aboriginal heritage, providing travellers with a deep connection to Australia's ancient cultures. These diverse attractions make Western Australia a compelling destination for international visitors seeking both relaxation and adventure.
Below is a brief outline of the options available. During the registration process, buyers will be invited to indicate whether they would like to be considered for a famil program. If so, they will be asked to rank their famil participation preferences.
Please note that places may be limited and selection is at the discretion of TWA. TWA will contact participants after registrations close to confirm next steps and provide further itinerary details to assist with travel planning, including the requirement for buyers to make their own flight bookings.
1. Broome / Rubibi
Depart: Morning of Friday, 24 October 2025
Arrive: Afternoon/Evening of Sunday, 26 October 2025
Experience the extraordinary beauty of Broome / Rubibi, where red earth meets turquoise sea. Wander the iconic 22-kilometre stretch of Cable Beach / Walmanyjun, or take in its magic on a sunset camel ride along the Indian Ocean. Discover the region’s rich stories - from the legacy of pearl divers to the deep cultural heritage of the Yawuru people.
2. Great Southern
Depart: Morning of Friday, 24 October 2025
Arrive: Afternoon/Evening of Sunday, 26 October 2025
Journey to the picturesque town of Denmark, where you’ll enjoy the region’s renowned cool climate wines, fresh local produce, and relaxed coastal charm. Continue on to Albany / Kinjarling to explore dramatic coastal formations, towering forests, and treetop walkways, while uncovering the area’s rich history and cultural significance.
3. Indian Ocean Drive
Depart: Morning of Friday, 24 October 2025
Arrive: Afternoon/Evening of Sunday, 26 October 2025
Take a short flight to Geraldton / Jambinu before heading north to witness the striking pink hues of Hutt Lagoon. Continue on to Kalbarri National Park to soak in sweeping views of dramatic landscapes and spectacular natural rock formations. Travel south along the Indian Ocean Drive to marvel at the otherworldly Pinnacles and enjoy a thrilling adventure among towering sand dunes.
4. Margaret River Region

Discover the best of the Margaret River Region, where world-class wine, gourmet produce, and spectacular natural beauty come together. Taste your way through award-winning wineries, breweries, and restaurants, before exploring pristine beaches, towering forests, and ancient limestone caves. It’s the only wine region in Australia where you can seamlessly move from vine to ocean, forest to underground wonder - all in a single day.
5. Perth / Boorloo Day Famil
Depart: Morning of Sunday, 26 October 2025
Arrive: Evening of Sunday, 26 October 2025
Spend the day discovering the diverse experiences on offer in Perth / Boorloo. You will either explore the vibrant Swan Valley, with highlights including an Indigenous cultural experience, a winery lunch with a behind-the-scenes tour, a coffee roasting and tasting session, and a sweet treat to finish the day. Or dive into the rich character of Fremantle with its eclectic streets, markets, and local culture. The day concludes with a scenic coastal drive and a Segway tour through the iconic Kings Park, offering sweeping views of the city and Swan River.
6. Esperance / Kepa Kurl (note, this was previously not listed as a famil option)

Arrive: Afternoon/Evening of Sunday, 26 October 2025
Fly to Esperance / Kepa Kurl and experience one of Western Australia's most breathtaking coastal regions. Embark on a coastal 4WD adventure, take in the region’s natural beauty from above on a scenic flight, and deepen your understanding of Country on an immersive Indigenous cultural tour. Enjoy time exploring the pristine shores of Woody Island before flying back to Perth / Boorloo, with unforgettable memories of Esperance’s turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and rugged landscapes.
